These works formed part of the West Coast Main Line refurbishment works on behalf of Network Rail. Thorntask were contracted by Birse Rail to carry out the installation of a Safe Cess footpath.
The scope of works included the programming, planning and construction of 40 km of Cess footpath and designated places of safety at trackside locations on Network Rail infrastructure.
Thorough programming of the works was required to ensure completion during the limited available working windows.
Thorntask were responsible for provision of all labour, plant and materials to facilitate the works, including the supply of Network Rail protection staff (i.e. COSS, Lookout and ES). All works carried out in accordance with Group Standards and Network Rail Company Standards.
