These works constituted part of the nationwide scheme to provide fixed telecoms network to facilitate the proposed GSM network. Works were carried out trackside on Network Rail Infrastructre. The scope of works included;
- Construction of lineside cabinet bases and joint bays
- Cable installation works
- UTX's (Under Track Crossing)
- Construction of cable drawpits
- Trough routes
- Ducting through platforms
Thorntask were responsible for provision of all labour, plant and materials to facilitate the works, including the supply of
Network Rail protection staff (i.e. COSS, Lookout and ES). All works carried out in accordance with Group Standards
and Network Rail Company Standards.
