Following asset condition survey reports at Gants Hill, Leytonstone, Mansion House and Wood Lane Stations Thorntask were contracted to carry out repairs in several areas to sustain asset life expectancy, operational function and compliance with London Underground (LU) standards.

Thorntask’s scope of works included;

  • Rectification of water ingress issues, including the installation of water proof membrane systems, damp proof courses (DPC) and tanking systems
  • Plastering and render repair works
  • Finishing works including painting of various surfaces (steel, masonry, etc.)
  • Tiling to floor and wall areas including Terrazzo floor repairs
  • Replacement of trackside CMS panels
  • Suspended ceiling works


Thorntask were responsible for obtaining all required approvals and permits to facilitate the works including; storage licence, movement of materials licence, isolation of fire systems and station / track access approval (OAN).

All works carried out in accordance and within the constraints of London Underground working procedures, standards, processes and contract QUENSH conditions
